▪Symposium Cafe▪

A one stop shop for food, desserts and drinks, Symposium is the place to be!
Offering everything from crepes, cakes, ice cream, waffles and desserts squares you're mouth will be sure to water. I have had almost all the items on the dessert menu and I have to say, they are all very delicious and satisfying. The atmosphere has a restaurant/bar feel to it, however it offers couches and quieter areas for more intimate moments.

My favorite item on the menu is the ice cream parfait which consists of french vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, fresh strawberries and whipped creme! It is the perfect combination of fresh and sweet. Mmm! You have to taste it to believe it.

▪Sweet! Bakery▪

One word... CUPCAKES!
This petite bakery is famous for their delicious cupcakes and warm homey atmosphere. All made by hand, every morning and throughout the day, each cupcake is designed to fill your sweet tooth and melt in your mouth. With their dozens of flavours, you will never be disappointed.

My favorite flavour this season has to be their chai-pumpkin cupcake. Mmm

▪Lemondrop Frozen Yogurt▪

Wide variety of self serve frozen yogurt, endless toppings, all chosen by YOU!? Yes please!

The dozens of flavours they offer is amazing and very tasty, everything from red velvet, cake batter, maple nut, green tea, bubble gum, to key lime, pomergrante, strawberry, cotton candy and mint chocolate chip. It will leave you speechless as to how frozen yogurt can not only taste so good but a much healthier choice to ice cream.

It doesn't stop there, there are over 60 fresh toppings to add to your yogurt. Fresh fruit, nuts, chocolates, candy... it is an amazing addition to Oakville!

▪Green Bean Coffee House▪

One of my favorite spots in Oakville to relax and chat with a close friend over coffee and dessert in Green Bean. This cafe is known to have the best coffee and espresso in town! Located right across from a Starbucks, it brings some tough competition. However, on just about any day, line ups are stretched outside the door with eagar customers.

The decor in this cafe is phenomenal, along with their upscale products and selection. The atmosphere is usually busy, however there is a sense of calmness during the late evenings when you want to grab a dessert, a latte and read a book.
My favorite items on the menu is a caramel latte with a slice of tiramisu :) to die for! I highly recommend this cafe. It surely puts Starbucks to shame, see for yourself.

▪Chocolate Alphabet & Casa del Gelato▪

If the title didn't catch your attention, then I don't know what will! Chocolate, and gelato in the same sentence? HEAVEN! This little treasure is a must go to while visiting Oakville. The gelato choices are endless, the chocolate is to die for, and the macaroons are all hand made by the owner himself.

I was recommended to try this place by a family member and boy, was she ever right. Owned by two talented individuals from Paris, this cafe offers a cozy, European feel and is perfect for either those cold winter days or warm summer nights.

Some of the gelato flavors they offer is Ferrero Rocher, roasted marshmallow, hazelnut, pistachio, pumpkin, cappuccino, and the list goes on! The unique thing about this particular cafe, is that all their macaroons, chocolates and all but one of their gelatos are all GLUTEN FREE! As well as numerous sugar free options for diabetics! Chocolate Alphabet & Casa del Gelato is perfect for everyone!

▪ The Crêpe Kitchen ▪

Situated in the heart of downtown Oakville is a little pot of gold, The Crêpe Kitchen. Offering a wide variety of exquisite breakfast and dessert crêpes, this restaurant has won many awards and endless positive reviews. Now that you’re sitting there wondering just how good can these crêpes really be, I’ll explain.
▪▪▪

I noticed this spot one day while walking around downtown Oakville with a close friend. I was instantly intrigued by this cozy little gem that I had to take a look. For someone like me who adores desserts and anything sweet, they instantly had me at the word “crêpe”. The first thing I noticed was the warm atmosphere and friendly staff that greeted us. Their crêpe options were endless, anything from nutella, dulce de leche, dark chocolate, peanut butter, to every fruit and sauce you can have. It was a tough decision but I ended up having a dulce de leche with peaches and strawberries. The crêpe was warm, the peaches and strawberries were fresh and evenly distributed, and the dulce de leche sauce was a perfect amount, it was heavenly. They also serve fresh coffee in a french press coffee maker... amazing!Although I didn’t have any breakfast crêpes during my stay, their menu offered many healthy and delicious choices. I definitely will go back to try it out, as well as try some more dessert crêpes! It is a must try while walking around downtown Oakville.

You can check out their menu options on their website:
